No one’s prouder of when they were born than 90s kids. And if there’s one thing that’ll draw us 90s kids in hook, line, and sinker, it’s exclusive things from our childhood. Inject an ounce of 90s nostalgia into your veins with these 90s toys you can still buy today.

9 Nostalgic 90s Toys You Can Still Buy Today

Y2K is alive and well thanks to these iconic 90s toys that are still on the market. After all, we millennials might not be able to buy a house, but we can relive the best years of our lives for $50 or less.

Teletubby Plushies

As a young millennial, one of my pride and joys as a toddler of was my talking Teletubby plushy, Po. Before Bluey and the Cocomelon captured kids’ attention, we had unhinged hits like Teletubbies. These life-sized anthropomorphic alien creatures join Barney and others in the 90s Hall of Fame.

Despite going off air in 2001 (with a short-lived 2014 reboot in between), you can relive your toddling days pretending to eat tubby custard with your own talking Teletubby plushy for under $35.

Nickelodeon Gak

Decades before Nickelodeon tried to murder Katy Perry with a jet-powered slime stream at the Kids' Choice Awards, the controversial children’s media corporation capitalized on its slimy reputation with Gak. Thanks to ASMR and short-form content, slime has made a huge comeback.

Let’s give Gak the credit it deserves for being the original slime phenomenon. You can still buy Nickelodeon slime, though the Gak name has long since been retired. If you’ve got a spare $15, you can get a 3lb bucket of Neapolitan-inspired Nickelodeon slime.

Magic Ball and Mitt

No 90s summer was complete without throwing and (unsuccessfully) catching a bright pink and green tennis ball on a Velcro-covered dinner plate. The infamous Magic Ball and Mitt hit the ground running in the early 90s. A 1991 Time article goes so far as to call it the “summer of the Velcro paddle and ball.”

The oh-so-simple concept is too easy to manufacture for it to fall out of commercial favor, and you can still enjoy some Velcro-covered fun for the low price of $7.95.

Moon Shoes

Everyone has that one dream toy they used to beg their parents for that they never managed to snag. Mine was Moon Shoes. Naturally, my lanky and clumsy nine-year-old self would’ve only been a few minutes away from a hospital trip had she strapped into those gravity-defying trampoline shoes — and my mother knew it.

But, unlike getting to snack on now-defunct Kudos bars, this dream isn’t a dead one. The out-of-this-world shoes are still available and only cost about $30.

Furby

The late-2000s were defined by Team Jacob and Team Edward camps, but in the 1990s you were either pro- or anti-Furby. The fluffy gremlin-like animatronic creature was a major fad for preteens and teens alike.

Unfortunately, they say you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain, and we’re living in the second half of that timeline. Furby’s been back for a few years now (though we’d want to know who exactly was clamoring for its comeback) with a cutesy rebrand that’s giving more Star Trek tribbles than Mowgli after midnight.

Sky Dancers

If you’re ever feeling down in the dumps, all you have to do is watch the home video of a Christmas morning gone wrong. A newly unwrapped Sky Dancer takes her first flight straight into a lit fireplace. It’s black comedy gold. Sky Dancers join a long line of dolls and action figures that capitalize on a unique animation/feature to make it stand out.

With cooler tech toys all around, kids might not be as impressed with Sky Dancers as we 90s kids were. The best part is we’ve got the disposable income to shell out on these nearly $40 dolls.

Polly Pocket

Polly Pocket debuted in late 1989, and much like breaking a bottle of champagne onto a ship before its maiden voyage, the tiny toys christened the new decade. These micro-playsets were portable, affordable, and, all around, a step up from Mattel’s tired, old-fashioned dolls.

Polly Pocket’s popularity hasn’t waned since, and you can still buy all kinds of accessories, playsets, and dolls. Relive that original portable Polly Pocket magic with a compact playset like this adorable Otter Aquarium.

Doodle Bear

If you ever want to pinpoint the moment when millennials decided to break the tattoo taboo en masse, might we direct you to when Doodle Bear was released in 1995? Doodle Bear was a series of cute, colorful stuffed bears that came with washable markers you could decorate them with. After a trip through the spin cycle, they’d be as good as new!

And for just $20, you can tap into your latent childhood creativity with an original Doodle Bear.

Tamagotchi

Naturally, you have to save the best for last. Tamagotchi broke onto Japanese markets in 1996 to massive acclaim. Think back to when the first iPhone came out and blew people’s minds. That’s how fevered kids and teens were for Tamagotchi toys.

These egg-shaped electronic keychains had a basic premise — take care of a virtual pet using one of three buttons. Just like phone charms in the 2000s, you couldn’t walk around school without seeing a Tamagotchi swinging off a Jansport in the 1990s.

In 2017, Tamagotchi was re-released in honor of its 20th anniversary, and you’ve been able to adopt your own keychain pets ever since.

Y2K Is Here to Stay

Some people would rather the 1990s stay in the past, but we promise that Y2K is here to stay. Take one look at the toy aisle, and you’ll see some of the 90s' greatest hits. Don’t know about you, but we’re adding these 90s toys that you can still buy today to our cart as we speak.
