Variations and Substitutions
There's more than one way to eat a peach, so it makes sense that there is more than one way to make a peach martini.
- Use plain or vanilla vodka instead of peach if you want to dial it back.
- Instead of peach nectar, consider using peach simple syrup.
- If you don't have limes or lime juice readily available, lemon juice works just fine.
- To make yours a frozen peach martini, use a cup to cup and a half of ice, and toss all of your ingredients into a blender until it's your desired consistency. Serve and garnish as usual.
- Add peach Crown Royal in place of the peach vodka.
Garnishes
The peach martini uses a peach wedge to pump up the peach flavor, but you can cube your peach and pierce them together onto a cocktail skewer. Another option is making a brown sugar or cinnamon sugar rim to add another layer of flavor. Last, a lemon wheel or twist adds a pop of color and balances the drink's sweetness as a whole.
About the Peach Martini
If you think of peach cocktails, you're likely to think of a peach bourbon smash, peach margarita, or the classic Bellini. Think of the peach martini as the ultimate peach cocktail, jamming all flavors of peach into a martini glass. However, the peach martini is most closely related to the brunch cocktail, the Bellini.
The peach martini, sometimes informally referred to as the Bellini-tini, takes peach puree and sparkling wine out of the mix, focusing instead on peach nectar for that peachy backbone in addition to the schnapps and vodka. However, if this proves to be too much, you can use plain vodka instead. If you're a Bellini fan, consider serving your martini in a coupe and topping off with just a splash of peach sparkling wine.
A Peachy Solution
The peach martini is a wonderful addition to your martini rotation, whether you want your brunch cocktail to pack a punch, you're looking for a fruity yet sweet after-dinner drink, or you want to sit in the sun and enjoy summer flavors. Don't be shy, take a bite of this martini.
