Variations of the Beetlejuice Cocktail
Like the title character, this cocktail can take on many faces.
- Swap the gin for vodka to create a cocktail with a more neutral base. This spirit swap will work with any of the riffs, as well.
- Create a murky, gloomy-looking cocktail by omitting the green chartreuse and using a half-ounce of melon liqueur and a half-ounce of raspberry liqueur.
- Instead of a cranberry juice float, you can always use cherry juice or another red juice.
- Match the dark tones of Beetlejuice by adding a half-ounce of blue curaçao, skipping the green chartreuse.
Garnishes
You may not be able to conjure objects like Beetlejuice, but you can summon the perfect garnish.
- Drop a cocktail cherry into the drink or pierce one or three with a cocktail skewer.
- Rub the rim of the glass with a lime wedge, then dip the rim into green sugar.
- Mimic Beetlejuice's green hair with a lime peel or twist.
- Channel the black and white stripes with a black and white striped cocktail straw.
